Teaching Treasures

Teaching Treasures is an old website with an old interface that is still relevant in a Web 2.0 environment. It contains Literacy and Numeracy resources as well as home learning resources. Check it out here.

Children's Videos

Some children's videos are entertaining and some can be a little dry but still worth adding to the blog. These ones come under the 'latter' category. These videos can be viewed here and there are videos on colours, the alphabet and more.

MeeGenius - Ipad Books

MeeGenius is an excellent (free) app for the iPad. It comes with a few free books and you can pay to add extra books into your account. Its definitely worth downloading and signing up because occasionally they'll send emails with free book codes. Check out more information on the app at the official website.

Online Stories

Online Books are an excellent resource to use to introduce students to the joy of reading and listening to stories. AOL Kids has lots of online Arthur stories (and other stories) and reads the story to you. Check out the website here.

Eggy Words

We love Reading Eggs and the students in the classroom love it just as much. The creators of reading Eggs have just released a new app called 'Eggy Words'. It's basically a small little game where students can learn about 100 common words. It is available free in the app store, follow the link here.

Letter Lifter

Letterlifter is an excellent little game for teaching students about beginning sounds. Objects appear on the belt and you have to type in the letter that the word starts with. A great little introductory Literacy game. Check out the website here.
